MAINSTAGE THEATRE

The new home of the Theatre and Music departments for Cerritos College bridges the campus with the surrounding community by providing commuter students access to state-of-the-art performance and training spaces. The space program for the facility includes a centralized performance are that houses a 400-seat proscenium theatre, a 200-seat black box theatre, and a 100-seat lecture hall. The 77,000-sf facility also includes numerous music rehearsal and practice rooms, choir rooms, a recording studio and media lab, and other support spaces such as dressing rooms, a costume shop, scene shop with an outdoor work yard, and an outdoor stage for lawn concerts. The performing arts center is also green-certified and serves to enhance the college’s mission to support and enrich the arts on campus, in the city of Norwalk, and the region.
